How I enhanced my body appreciation through gaining muscle.

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

Deniece approached me in August last year wanting to tone up after a significant weight loss. The most important part for Deniece was having a strong and toned physique to celebrate her changed body.

"I had come near to the end of my journey in terms of fat loss and was over the moon to be close to my goal weight. The last piece of the puzzle was to tone up. I got in touch with Rebecca at Bloom to see if she could help me. I explained my situation and how I thought weight training could help me with becoming stronger. I was already doing yoga regularly but was curious about weight training. Rebecca assured me I was making a smart move. We talked through my goals and how I wanted to gain muscle and feel fantastic about my new leaner body. After losing such a large amount of weight, I was naturally keen to make sure I was doing the right types of exercise to help stabilise and maintain my weight. Rebecca is such a good communicator; she explained the principles of weight training and her sessions have been educational, which I really value. Having this reassurance helped me to relax into my new body and gave true value to the training sessions. I found this very motivating and empowering.

Deniece and I worked together via Zoom as she is based in Dubai. Weight training was relatively new to her so being able to complete the sessions in the privacy of her own home was a real bonus. Training with Deniece is a pleasure as she is always keen to learn new exercises and has such an appreciation for her new body and its abilities. We are making good progress and have continued to see each other every week. She is incredibly happy with her results and her body confidence grows all the time. Having a good level of body confidence does not mean having a “perfect body” as the media would have us all believe. It is learning to appreciate your body for what it can do for you and see what an amazing tool it is.
